Spoonies Thriving

Living Well With Chronic Illness

Thanks For Visiting

I made this blog for all my fellow brothers and sisters who suffer from chronic pain and illness.  I wanted this to be a safe place you can visit for information, comfort, and hopefully a laugh or two.  Living with chronic pain is hard mentally, spiritually, and physically.  I personally got to a point where my disease consumed me and even though I was still alive, I was no longer living.  I decided I may not be able to change what I have been dealt, but I can change how I choose to deal with it.  Even though we have illness, it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy life anymore.  I want to live my best life and I’d like to support you in your journey also.

The Spoon Theory

The spoon theory is a disability metaphor used to explain the reduced amount of energy available for activities of daily living and productive tasks that may result from disability or chronic illness. Spoons are an intangible unit of measurement used to track how much energy a person has throughout a given day.
